Max and Buck

Max Rowe

Max Rowe is a Virginia native having lived most of his life in or near Middlebrook, VA that he calls home. At the age of five Max Rowe could be found outdoors involved in either hunting or fishing. He spent his early years learning and honing his woodsmanship skills deep in the Allegany Mountains of Highland and Bath Counties, VA under the tutorage of his father and friends. While in his twenties, Max began traveling the country in pursuit of Spring Gobblers and Whitetails, both of which remain his greatest passion. It was during his time hunting in the Alleganies that Max developed a cover scent for deer hunting, leading to the birth of his game call business (BTD Scents & Game Calls). Soon after Max turned his attention to making turkey calls and has never looked back. Max began co producing Just Kill’n Time TV in 2003 with co-host Buck Buchanan.  A little while later, Max sold BTD Scents and Calls to devote his full attention to outdoor television.

Just Kill’n Time has been nominated for and won several awards and is praised by fans for it’s honest and forthright portrayal of the outdoor experience. Max’s passion for the outdoors has resulted in many quality adventures each with its own unique outcome. Max loves to use these experiences to relate a lesson learned while adding good ole boy humor and fun into the mix. Max enjoys traveling, and meeting people while sharing knowledge and experiences with fellow sportsmen. Having no children of his own Max loves to take young folks hunting, “Helping to ensure the youth of our great nation have the chance to experience the world thru a hunters eyes” that is my main goal say’s Max. “I believe that hunting teaches responsibility, an understanding of the finality of a choice, and respect of life” says Max. “These are the foundations that self respect, character, and morality are built on.” Getting more folks involved in outdoor activities is a major step in creating a stronger, thriving society in our great Country.

“You will never understand until you have shared it,” Max says referring to witnessing the “first” for a hunter new to the sport, when you are sharing and capturing the events and emotion as they unfold in nature. You can see it in the look in their eyes, or the tear on their cheek. Making and sharing memories that’s what I do, that’s what I love! A young man, while standing on the head of his first gobbler, once asked me how he could ever repay me for the experience of that morning.  I told him the simple truth. When the time is right and you will know; take a young person and share what you have been a part of today!”

Buck Buchanan

Buck Buchanan resides in Mount Jackson, Virginia. He was born and raised in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and grew up hunting the mountains with his dad. His dad got him into hunting and fishing at an early age and Buck has been chasing animals around those ridges and through those mountains ever since. He has a passion for hunting and the outdoors like nothing else. He enjoys getting new people and youngsters into the sport of hunting and fishing. He knows that if it wouldn’t have been for the outdoors when he was growing up he wouldn’t be where he is today and he don’t think he would be the person he is today. He thinks it’s just something about being in the woods or sitting along a creek bank somewhere that everyone should get to do at least once in their life. Then they can see firsthand why he likes the outdoors and the peace and beauty that comes along with it.

Buck has been in the outdoor industry now for years. He had owned a camouflage company with his two brothers for several years before getting into the tv industry 10 years ago with his partner Max Rowe. Buck and Max partnered up to start a hunting show called Just Kill’n Time TV. The show has grown every year since getting started and is becoming a household name. Whether Buck has a cameraman with him or if he has to do it himself he don’t hit the woods without a camera in hand. He loves to capture his experiences in the woods so he can share them with everyone else. He hopes that one day everyone gets to experience the outdoors just as he has all his life. Buck knows that once you get the taste of it you will be hooked for life just as he is. Hunt Hard and Be safe.

Gerald Johnson Gearld bear fall 2013 Maine_1

I started videoing hunts in the mid 90’s with an old VHS camera and got hooked on it. In 2003 I started filming for Southern Outdoor Experience TV Show. I stayed with that show for 8 years. Mike Stroff decided to change the show to Savage Outdoors. I stayed 2 more years with those guys. I got a tip from a friend of mine that a nearby TV show in Virginia was looking for pro staff guys to join their team. I gave Max and Buck a call and the rest is history.
